My favorite tree. It is very crooked and twisted so I call it “The Politicians Tree” but its real name is 'Contorted Filbert.’ This tree blocks the summer sun from the library window where I work in the summer, but allows the winter light to pour in when the leaves drop. It attracts comical little chickadees and houses a resident tree frog so sometimes there is so much going on right outside my window that I watch the fun when I should be writing.
Note: The Contorted Filbert in the second picture is in the center of the frame (with leaves by the arched window).
